          The Battle of Perryville

Brand new from Wide Awake, the Battle of Perryville was shot on location at the Historic Battlefield during the October 2006 event. This DVD reflects the true "high tide" of the Confederacy. The Battle of Perryville played a key role in the South's best chance to win it's independence during the war.

This DVD features a documentary on the battle, a reenactor video shot by embedded cameramen in the ranks of thousands of Blue and Grey reenactors, detailed maps, as well as a walking tour of the battlefield with Ed Bearss.

           Bad Blood

With the eyes of the nation watching, the thorny issue of slavery ignited the border between Missouri and Kansas Territory. The Battle of Franklin 

Late in the autumn of 1864, Confederate General John Bell Hood led the battle-hardened veterans of the Army of Tennessee on a fateful campaign into central Tennessee in a desperate attempt to regain control of the state from Federal forces. The battle that commenced was a bloody death struggle unparalleled in its ferocity. 

Partially filmed on the original Franklin battlefield, this painstakingly accurate and stunningly beautiful documentary takes you into the trenches. As cannons and muskets roar, you willl hear the actual thoughts and words of soldiers and civilians who experienced the horrors of the Battle of Franklin. 

Created from over 100 hours of footage, this 70-minute documentary was three years in the making. Spotsylvania Courthouse

The 1864 Civil War battle of Spotsylvania Court House , Virginia , was a fight waged by first-string generals . commanding battle-hardened, veteran armies. Here, the north's aggressive , and successful general, Ulysses S. Grant, fought the south's finest tactician, Robert E. Lee. This campaign was the first time during the Civil War that these two "heavyweights" opposed each other , . and at Spotsylvania Court House, the savagery as a result of this mighty confrontation , - this clash of determined bulldogs , - was staggering. At the battle of Spotsylvania after After fourteen days of fighting , nearly 18,000 northerners and 10,000 southerners were either killed, maimed or captured at the battle of Spotsylvania.

          The Battle of Stones River

After Confederate General Braxton Bragg's defeat at Perryville, Kentucky, in October of 1862, he and his Confederate army retreated and reorganized near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Major General William Rosecrans' Union army followed Bragg from Kentucky to Nashville. In December Rosecrans' 44,000-man army left Nashville to defeat Bragg's 37,000 rebels. At dawn on December 31, the two armies clashed in a deadly struggle along the banks of Stones River.

The Union army's ultimate victory boosted Union morale and solidified that much of the state would remain in Union control. In total, more than 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded, missing or captured, making December 31, 1862 Tennessee's deadliest day in history, and the bloodiest fight in the " Western Theater" of the American Civil War.
